At the time of sale Key Food Equipment Services was the leading provider of repair parts and service for commercial kitchen equipment in Western Canada. Based in Burnaby, BC, key’s technicians served a range of customers from national food chains to smaller independent restaurants. After a 4 ½ year partnership, Krystal, sold Key Food to Heritage Food Service Group Inc., a leader in commercial kitchen equipment service in the U.S, who acquired Key Food as part of their strategy to being a National player in Canada. After the sale, Key Food’s President Ken Beasley became an integral part of Heritage’s North American management team and running the Canadian service operations for Heritage.
